In recent weeks I have had quite a few fellow riders initiate conversations  with me concerning riding on the road. Specifically these customers have  wanted my input about how to share moderate to high traffic roads with cars safely. As it turns out, I have a lot to say on the topic, but I’ll try  to boil it all down to a few ideas to share that I think all cyclists  should keep in mind when riding anywhere that they might encounter cars, be  it on Parmer Ln, 360, Downtown, or even in their neighborhood.

My entire philosophy regarding riding in traffic is based upon the following idea: awareness.

Rain, shine, cold, hot, windy or not, get out there and ride. A lot of us use weather as a tipping point to stay inside, mow the lawn, complete housework, run errands watch the bits of data streaming to your living room or sleeping of last night's big dinner!

Rain, did someone say rain? If it ever falls in central Texas, remember a little rain won't hurt you or your beloved machine, and it can even be a blessing in the midst of these blistering hot days that fill our Texas summers.

Spring is here and it is nice to get outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery, happy faces and great stories from cyclists around the city and on the trails.  Then why are there so many "deals" out there in the used bike spectrum?  "Hardly ridden", "good as new", "only used once", the list goes on...
